Wirework is an imaginative and spontaneous method of setting stones using wire and simple hand tools. Craft a centerpiece for a beading project, create a pendant out of that odd-shaped stone or turn a beach rock into a magic amulet.
In this video, I create two pendants of different sizes and shapes, while describing the process over the course of an hour or so. I discuss tools and materials, tips and tricks with close up shots of the action. There is a material and supplies list on the video, as well as a printed one on the case. With this DVD workshop you will learn how to frame a stone, the use of simple hand tools, and about the sometimes perverse nature of wire and stone.
Classes
In this three hour Private Workshop, you will create a completed stone and sterling silver wire pendant to wear home that day. All materials are included, an oval cabochon, sterling silver wire, and use of tools, as well as my DVD Workshop, which serves a guide for when you do your next pendants. If you'd like to bring your own stone to wrap, I will take $5 off the price of your workshop.
Group Workshops are available! Would you like to get together with friends or family to create a memorable piece of art? Depending on timing and distance, we can make it happen.
I'm currently located in the Sierra Foothills, and I teach in my cozy shop, tea, coffee and snacks included. I can travel to you if I can incorporate your workshop into my other travel plans (or if I can go somewhere fun because of your workshop) I will show up with everything we need to make art in a day.
